Pianist BIO
Cameron Spowart is a British pianist, musician and composer with a background spanning classical performance, jazz, accompaniment and contemporary music.
Born into a musical family, Cameron began performing from an early age. As a Music Scholar at Windsor Castle, he performed regularly as both a chorister for the Royal Family and a pianist in concerts. He later received further music scholarships to Uppingham School and played French horn with the National Youth Orchestra.
After completing a BA (Hons) in Sound and Music Technology at the University of Plymouth, Cameron studied Piano Performance at Goldsmiths, University of London, gaining an MMus.
His postgraduate studies focused particularly on Romantic piano repertoire and developing an expressive, individual approach to performance. His work included Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 18, Schubert's Piano Sonata No. 21 and Impromptus, Liszt's Harmonies poétiques et religieuses — including Bénédiction de Dieu dans la solitude — and the three Liebesträume, alongside Tchaikovsky's The Seasons and Rachmaninoff's Moments musicaux. During his master's, Cameron also developed his jazz performance and improvisation.
Cameron has since performed at weddings and private events, combining classical repertoire with bespoke piano arrangements. He particularly enjoys transforming songs that hold special meaning for couples — including music from pop, rock and other genres — into romantic solo piano arrangements for their wedding day.
As an accompanist, Cameron has worked with singers and other musicians for rehearsals, examinations and live performances, including performances at London's Victoria and Albert Museum.
Whether performing classical repertoire, accompanying another musician or creating a unique arrangement of a favourite song, Cameron's playing centres on expression, sensitivity and communicating the emotional character of the music.
